Virgine Bove
Virginie Bove was born in 1977 in Paris. Her interest and love for music
started at an early age and lead her to begin studying the flute at
eleven years old.
She had the opportunity to study with some great flutists in France and
abroad, including M. Beaucoudray, M. Debost, M. Dufour, C. Lefèbvre,
P. Dumail, P. Bernold and G. Alirol. Virginie completed her studies
attaining first prices from the Conservatoire of Paris and of Saint-Maur
and wan in parallel several national competitions.
From 1995 to 2000, Virginie was Principal flute in the Sorbonne
Orchestra in Paris, where she performed in many countries including
America, Italy, Switzerland and Morocco.
From 2000, Virginie began to freelance as a flutist and piccolo player
with numerous orchestras playing under the baton of extraordinary
conductors including Georges Prêtre, Emmanuel Krivine and Lorin
Maazel.
Since 2005, she has established herself in Cyprus as a sub-
principal/piccolo flute player in the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra (ex
Cyprus State Orchestra). She currently teaches at the Ethnikon Odeon,
Arte Academy of Music and for the scholarship program of the Cyprus
State Youth Orchestra.
Virginie collaborates with other musicians regularly and is a founding
member in the following chamber ensembles: “Pipeau Bec” duo with
Nicolas Papageorgiou and the Cyprus Wind Quintet.
