Svetlana Ristic
Svetlana Ristic was born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. She completed her
high school education at the 'Stevan Mokranjac' Music High School in
Belgrade in 1976. Miss. Ristic took her bachelor's degree from the
Belgrade Music Academy, Wind Instruments Department, Flute. She
studied with Professor Miodrag Azanjac. She specialized in France
(Villecroze), attending flute master classes and chamber music courses
held by Professor Christian Larde and Huguette Dreyfus.
Miss. Ristic started performing at the very early age and since that time
she has given concerts in towns all over Yugoslavia. As a representative
of the Belgrade Music Academy she participated in joint concerts of
Yugoslav Music Academies as well as at the International Music Academy
Festival held in Rovinj.
Svetlana Ristic has been a laureate of many Music High School and
Music Academy competitions and a winner of prestigious awards. She
has been a member of the Serbian Association of Musicians since 1980.
Svetlana Ristic has established her reputation as a soloist, chamber
musician and orchestra musician. She has performed at festivals and
concerts, and has made a recording for the Belgrade Radio Television
station with the Radio Television of Serbia Symphony Orchestra,
Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, the ensembles: 'Pro Musica', 'Dusan
Skovran', 'Flute Choir', 'Baroque Trio', and the 'Belgrade Baroque
Quartet' with which she has also made a gramophone record released by
the Radio Television of Serbia Gramophone Records Production
(PGP-RTS) in 1989. The 'Belgrade Baroque Quartet', of which she is the
founder, member and ensemble leader, has been twice nominated for the
City of Belgrade distinguished October Award.
Svetlana Ristic is a prominent member of many juries at domestic music
competitions. As the only representative of Yugoslavia, she has
performed at the International Chamber Concert of the North-South Cycle
in Athens.
At her recitals and various concerts (over 200 performances), Svetlana
Ristic has presented practically the entire flute music written by domestic
and foreign composers, and she has performed works ranging from
aroque to Contemporary music period in the forms of solo concertos with
orchestra and various chamber ensembles. Active promotion of the works
by Yugoslav composers and the performance of Baroque music plays an
especially significant part in the career of Svetlana Ristic.
Currently, Miss. Ristic is performing very actively as a soloist, as well as a
member of various Chamber ensembles and in this way she is always on
the concert stage. Numerous excellent reviews and singular
achievements are in line with the high level of her artistry.
Svetlana Ristic has recorded proliferously for Belgrade Radio Television
(about 50 recordings of solo and chamber music and over 200
recordings of orchestra music) as well as for other radio and television
stations throughout Yugoslavia. She also participatedin the realization of
yet another two records (in the year 1979 and 1980) and three compact
disc (in 1993, 1999, and 2000).
Miss. Ristic, besides holding the position of full time associate of the
Belgrade Philharmonic and the Yugoslav Military Orchestras, has
appeared in guest performances in Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Russia,
Germany, France, Mexico, England, Greece, and Cyprus.
Since 1978, Svetlana Ristic has held the position of Principal
Flutist-Soloist of the Radio Television of Serbia Symphony Orchestra in
Belgrade.
In 1997, Miss. Ristic was appointed Principal Flutist of the Cyprus State
Orchestra.
