SYMESOK
Stavros Petropoulos
Stavros Petropoulos was born in Limassol and started cello at the
age of nine with Mr. Christos Markou and later continued with Mrs.
Olga Drugalova-Argyridou.
From 1996 to 2002 Stavros attended Indiana University,
Bloomington, USA, where he studied with Emilio Colón and had
received the degrees Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in
Cello Performance. He also took courses of chamber music with
professors Luba Edlina Dubinsky and Ik-Hwan Bae and courses
in Viola da Gamba with professor Wendy Gillespie.
Since 1997 Stavros had been a recipient of the Eva Heinitz
Scholarship and Friends of Music Award. He was also a member
of the Camerata Orchestra, Bloomington.
Currently he is a member of the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra and
the Panthea String Quartet.
