Nicos Ioannou
Ο Νίκος Ιωάννου γεννήθηκε στις 15/7/1974 στη Λευκωσία.
Σε ηλικία οκτώ ετών ξεκίνησε κιθάρα στο Εθνικό Ωδείο Κύπρου.
Στα δεκαέξι του ξεκίνησε κοντραμπάσο και φλάουτο παράλληλα με την
κιθάρα.
Την ίδια χρονιά εντάχθηκε στην Κρατική Ορχήστρα Νέων ως
κοντραμπασίστας.
Ξεκίνησε τις ανώτερες σπουδές του στο κοντραμπάσο σε ηλικία είκοσι
ετών, και έξι χρόνια αργότερα αποφοίτησε από το Ωδείο Αθηνών με
Άριστα Παμψηφεί και πήρε το L.G.S.M.D. του Guildhall School of Music
and Drama με Άριστα.
Συνεργάστηκε με διάφορες ορχήστρες ως κορυφαίος (Συμφωνική
Ορχήστρα Ωδείου Αθηνών, Κρατική Ορχήστρα Κύπρου –από το 1999
μέχρι σήμερα), ως υποκορυφαίος (Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Ρεθύμνου
Κρήτης, Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Πειραιά), και ως απλός εκτελεστής
(Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα Ε.Ρ.Τ., Ορχήστρα των Χρωμάτων).
Συνεργάστηκε ως σολίστ στην ‘Πέστροφα’ του Schubert όπου
απέσπασε και βραβείο, όπως επίσης και με την Κρατική Ορχήστρα
Κύπρου στο έργο του Stravinsky ‘Η ιστορία του στρατιώτη’.
Εκτός από προσωπικά του ρεσιτάλ, έλαβε μέρος σε ομαδικά ρεσιτάλ και
συναυλίες Μουσικής Δωματίου με διάφορα μουσικά σχήματα.

At the age of eight he started guitar lessons at the Ethnikon Odeion.
He took double-bass and flute lessons at the age of sixteen, while he
continued his guitar lessons.
During the same year he joined the Youth State Orchestra as a double-
bass player.
He began his higher studies in double-bass at the age of twenty, and six
years later he graduated from the Athens Odeion with dinstiction, as well
as with the L.G.S.M.D. of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama,
again with dinstiction.
He has worked with various orchestras as principal double-bass player
(Athens Odeion Symphony Orchestra, Cyprus State Orchestra – from
1999 until today), as sub-principal (Symphony Orchestra of Rethymnon
in Crete, Piraeus Symphony Orchestra), and as a tutti player (E.R.T.
Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of Colours).
He participated as a soloist performing Schubert’s “The Trout”, a
performance that has been awarded, and also with the Cyprus State
Orchestra in Stravinsky’s “The Soldier’s Tale”.
Besides his personal recitals, he participated in group recitals and in
Chamber Music Concerts with various ensembles.
